ALGUEIRA PIZARRA is one of the most renowned wines in the winery's history. The grapes are sourced exclusively from our Carballocobo property, ensuring consistent production with the unique characteristics of each harvest. The whole grape clusters, without destemming, are crushed by foot in French oak vats and undergo pre-fermentative cold maceration before fermenting with strict temperature control. Following a prolonged post-fermentative maceration of over 30 days, the wine matures in French oak barrels and foudres for 12-18 months. In the glass, it exhibits an intense cherry red color, medium-high opacity, with a very intense aroma. It showcases the complexity of interesting red fruits, the balsamic notes of the terroir (green coffee and chocolates), and the minerality that defines the wine. The palate entry is vibrant, with an intense and structured pace, featuring crisp, complex, and warm tannins. It offers a long finish and a retronasal experience that evokes the plot's mineral character and its handcrafted elaboration.
